Arcturus Ventures Inc (“Arcturus”) has been informed by the Yukon Mining Recorder that a block of 48 claims, referred to as the OC claims, staked by a third party overlaps with the recently staked Mer claims. These OC claims overlap the eastern area of the Mer block and by virtue of having been staked prior to Arcturus’ claims, the third party will be granted the land in question. The area of overlap is approximately 900 ha, or 9 sq km, which represents about 16% of the 5600 ha under application from Arcturus. The Yukon Mining Recorder has confirmed that there are no other contested areas in the claim-block.
While disappointed by the loss of this area of the claim-block, Arcturus feels that this confirms the legitimacy of the Company’s staking efforts. Furthermore the Company does not feel that the lost ground is of key importance.
Arcturus would also like to make a correction to the News Release (NR) dated August 11th, 2010, regarding the results from the RB property. This NR incorrectly stated the following:
- The new showing 25 metres down section from the JD showing yielded 6350 ppm Copper which is approximately 0.64% not 0.46% as stated.
- The analysis result described from the DM showing was listed as having 9970 ppm (approximately 1.00%) copper, 0.035ppm (g/t) gold, 0.59 ppm (g/t) silver and 549 ppm zinc. The copper value was correct however that particular sample actually yielded 0.163 ppm (g/t) gold, 2.29 ppm (g/t) silver and 114 ppm zinc.
All of Arcturus’ work and disclosures on the company’s properties in Yukon are supervised and reviewed by Robert Stroshein, P.Eng, who is a qualified person under the definition of National Instrument 43-101.
